![]() Globe Biotech submits vaccine trial protocol Globe Biotech Limited on Sunday submitted its protocol for the clinical trial of its Covid-19 vaccine 'Bangavax'. The local biotech firm, submitted its protocol to the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) around 12:30pm for 'ethical approval' or 'ethical clearance'. Dr Asif Mahmud, in-charge of Globe Biotech research and development, told media that Globe Biotech's Clinical Research Organisation (CRO) submitted the protocol. "Phase-I trial of any vaccine in the country will be a milestone for us," he said. Globe Biotech had announced the development of the candidate on July 2, last year. Later on October 5, the company said the vaccine proved to be "effective" and "completely safe" after trials on rabbits and mice and ready to start the first phase of human modelling trial. LY |
