![]() COVID-19: 37 more deaths, 2,292 cases reported in country Bangladesh's COVID-19 deaths hit to 6,524 on Thursday as 37 more fatalities were counted in last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the infection number rose to 4,56,438 as 2,292 fresh cases were reported after testing 17,532 samples. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the figure through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Wednesday afternoon. Of the dead, 25 were male while 12 were female. All of them died at different hospitals across the country. In the past 24 hours, some 2,274 more corona patients were declared free from the virus, raising the total recovered number to 3,71,453. Meanwhile, mobile courts led by Rapid Action Battalion started drives at different places in Dhaka to ensure masks use of the city dwellers as the country is hit by the second wave of novel coronavirus. The government emphasised to maintain social distance and use of masks to curb the pandemic. Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 and the first death on March 18. TF |
