Charge framing hearing against Prothom Alo Editor, 9 others Oct 13

A court in Dhaka has fixed October 13 for charge framing against Daily Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman and nine others in a case filed over the death of Dhaka Residential Model College student Naimul Abrar Rahat.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court Judge KM Imrul Kayesh took the investigation report of the case into cognisance on Thursday and set the date.
The defence lawyer Proshanto Kumar Karmaker confirmed the matter.
On September 20, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim ordered to transfer the case as it was prepared for trial.
Among the 10 accused in the case, five, including Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman, are out on bail.
Naimul Abrar,15, a class IX student of the school, died from electrocution at a function of the daily Prothom Alo's juvenile magazine 'Kishor Alo' on November 1, 2019.
His father filed a case with Mohammadpur police on November 6.
