Four of a mobile phone snatching gang held in Savar

Police have detained four active members of a mobile phone snatching gang from Ashulia of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.

RAB-4 commander Additional Superintendent of Police Jamir Uddin confirmed the matter on Saturday night through a press release.

They were detained from Jamgara area in Ashulia on Saturday afternoon while they were selling stolen and snatched mobile phones, the press release said.

The detained persons are: Abul Kalam, 49, from Gopalganj, Mohsin Ali, 50, from Natore, Sohel Rana, 24, from Bhola, and Sujan, 26, from Barguna district. They all live in rented houses in Ashulia and Jamgara areas.

A total of 33 smartphones and 35 feature phones were recovered from their possessions.

Filing of a case with Ashulia Police Station is underway in this connection.
