During their staying in Sri Lanka both the Tigers' sides will take on their respective counter parts of home side. The 1st international affair is slated for October 24.
BCB high-ups set in a meeting ahead of the Sri Lanka tour and informed the outcomes of the meeting to journalists on Wednesday after the meeting held at BCB headquarters in Mirpur. Cricket Ops Chairman Akram Khan, BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, NHP Unit chief Naimur Rahman Dujoy, Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu and selector Habibul Bashar attended the meeting.
"HP unit had a prescheduled tour in Sri Lanka," Naimur said after the meeting on Wednesday. "If we can go little bit earlier, it'll help our national team. It'll enable to conduct the camp for our HP team," he clarified.
The detailed fixtures are yet to finalise since the negotiation is going on regarding the match numbers and formats. Akram said, "To play a three-match Test series in any tour is a prestigious matter. But we haven't played any cricket for the last five or six months. So it's a matter to be worried".
Selector Habibul Bashar on the other hand, informed the tentative date and size of the team. He said, "The squad will be announced in the 1st week of September".
"We are trying to keep more than 15 players in the national squad. The HP contains 26 members and the whole team will go to Sri Lanka prior to no injury bar," he added.
Cricketers will undergo the Covid-19 test twice before departing home. BCB will bear the half of the total expenditure of HP team and the host country will bear all expenditure from the starting of the official action of the HP. Like the start of the journey, HP team will also return to the country together with the national team.
