Shahedul Islam Sifat, who accompanied slain Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan, on Monday secured bail in two cases filed by police.
Getting bail, as Sifat, also a student of Stamford University in Dhaka, came out the jail gate, some plainclothes men quickly took him in a microbus without a number plate and left the place. Thus, Sifat could not talk to the media.
Earlier, Senior Judicial Magistrate (Teknaf-3) Tamanna Farah granted him bail around 11am.
Major (retd) Sinha's another team member and Stamford University student Shipra Debnath obtained bail on Sunday.
On July 3, Sinha alongwith three persons including Sifat and Shipra went to Cox's Bazar to shoot a travel video.
On July 31 night, the former army officer Sinha was killed in police firing during the searching at Baharchhara Police Checkpost.
At that time, Sifat was detained and sent to jail. Since then, he had been in Cox's Bazar jail.
The court granted him bail today and at the same time, assigned the RAB to investigate all the cases.
