Provost of the hall Dr Zakia Parveen and house tutors, among others, were present on the occasion.
In a message issued on the eve of Bangamata’s birth anniversary Dr Akhtaruzzaman said Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib is one of those women of the world who have countless sacrifices, strong morale and bravery.
The VC said Bangamata had played a pivotal role in building the nation, staying beside Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Rahman as a close companion.
It is time to evaluate her immense contribution for the sake of further wellbeing and interest of the society, civilization and women's progress, said Akhtaruzzaman.
Born on August 8 in 1930 at Tungipara village in Gopalganj, Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib was killed brutally by the assassins of Father of the Nation on August 15 in 1975.
