Two murdered in Noakhali
Police recovered two bodies from Hatia and Begumganj upazilas in Noakhali on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Kulsum Begum, 22, of Hatia, and Abdullah Al Noman Hridoy, 24, of Begumganj.
Kulsum was reportedly strangulated to death and Hridoy was stabbed to death.
Hatia Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Abul Khair said Kulsum and his brother Shafi Alam, 25, locked in an altercation on Friday night over family feud.
At one point of quarreling, Shafi strangled Kulsum dead and dumped the body into a pond near their house.
Meanwhile, Hridoy was killed over a trifling matter in Begumganj upazila on Friday afternoon.
Locals said Noman and one Sohag locked in an altercation over bathing in a pond.
Later, Sohag along with some other youths attacked Hridoy around 2 pm on Friday and stabbed him.
Hridoy was first taken to Noakhali General Hospital. Later, he died at around 9pm on the way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Begumganj Model Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Harunur Rashid said Hridoy’s brother filed a murder case against 20-25 people with naming 10 persons.
Till now, police detained eight persons in this connection.
The bodies were sent to Noakhali General Hospital morgue this afternoon.
