Country cross 2.5 lakh virus cases

The tally of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh surpassed 2.5 lakh on Friday with 2,851 fresh cases in last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 252,502.

During this timeline, 27 new deaths from COVID-19 were recorded, totaling the number of fatalities to 3,333.

Meanwhile, 1,760 people corona patients have made recovery in last day, taking the total number of recovery counts to 145,584.

Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of Directorate General of Health Services, confirmed the matter on a virtual briefing today afternoon.

Till now, coronavirus testing laboratories around the country have tested 12,37,823 samples, with 12,699 samples in last 24 hours.

The country on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death from it was registered ten days later.

The recovery rate is now 57.66 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.32 percent in the country, according to the official figure.
