About 300 families in Joypurhat's Kalai upazila  have been marooned in rainy water.

Paschim Kujail and Chwak Nayapara villages under Jindarpur union goes under water whenever it is raining as there is no proper water drainage system at the villages.

The inhabitants of the villages have been living waterlogged life for last two months.

The farmers of the area are facing problems to transport their corps and products as the village roads were inundated by the rainy water, said our local correspondent.

Jindarpur union parishad chairman Ziaur Rahman Zia said the drainage way of the villages falls under the boundary of Khetlal municipality.

He tried several times to solve the waterlogging but failed due to non-collaboration of the municipality mayor.

Meanwhile, Kalai upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Mubarak Hossain said the problem will be resolved talking to Khetlal UNO.
