BD to send emergency food, medical team to Lebanon

Bangladesh has decided to send emergency food, medical team and assistance to Lebanon following a massive explosion in Beirut on Tuesday evening that killed over 100 people and wounded over 4,000..
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued on Thursday, also said Bangladesh is ready to provide any emergency assistance to Lebanon in need.
Earlier on Wednesday Foreign Minister Abdul Momen phoned his Lebanese counterpart Charbel Wehbe to express his deep condolence at the loss of lives and property in Beirut explosion.
At that time he informed Wehbe about sending Bangladesh assistance to Lebanon.
He also thanked his Lebanese counterpart for providing all-out supports including treatment to the Bangladeshis injured in the explosion.
At least four Bangladesh nationals were killed in a massive explosion that rocked Lebanon's capital Beirut on Tuesday.
Besides, some 100 Bangladeshis including 21 members of Bangladesh Navy have received injuris in the blast that occurred in a warehouse at Beirut Port.
