Awareness can reduce waterlogging
Urban areas have plastic baskets, dustbins or designated places for dumping garbage. The cleaning staff of the concerned municipality or City Corporation regularly picks up garbage from these places. But in most cases the waste is being thrown here and there. Again, many have turned the roadside sewer into a dustbin! The condition of most of the dustbins connected to various educational institutions and important installations in the city is similar. Various animals such as cows, goats, dogs, cats, birds etc are diffusing dirt and garbage on the surrounding roads. Moreover, the habit of throwing dirt or discarded things on the road is very old. This increases the risk of waterlogging. In addition, people of all ages, including children, are being affected by the harmful effects of environmental pollution.
This unawareness is one of the reasons for waterlogging in urban areas due to light rains. So we can get rid of such situations if we are a little aware of ourselves. The area will be easily cleaned if household, office and shop waste is dumped in a specific place or in a dustbin. The initial light rains of the monsoon will not cause waterlogging. So let's all be aware of our place and give up the habit of dumping garbage everywhere and keep the city clean and reduce waterlogging.
