CMP deputy commissioner Mizanur dies of coronavirus

Mizanur Rahman, deputy police commissioner of Detective Branch of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), died of novel coronavirus early Monday.

He breathed his last around 3:30am at Central Police Hospital in Dhaka's Rajarbagh area while undergoing treatment from June 28, the CMP commissioner Mahbubur Rahman confirmed.

Mizanur had been admitted to the hospital after infected with the deadly virus. He was, later, shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital following deterioration of his condition.

Mizanur, who joined the police force through the 22nd BCS exam, was the first SP-rank officer to die of the coronavirus.
