RMP constable dies of taking pesticides

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) constable allegedly died after taking pesticides in Rajshahi. She died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) around 5:30 pm on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Mita Khatun, 22, daughter of Mansur Ali, a resident of Kechuatail village in Paba upazila.

She worked in Airport Police Station under Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP).

Family members said Mita was also suffering from heart and kidney diseases. However, they did not want to talk about taking pesticides.

Airport Police Station officer-in-charge Noor Alam Siddiqui said Mita drank pesticides at home on June 30. She was then in a 14-day home quarantine.
