Feni civil surgeon dies from coronavirus

Feni Civil Surgeon and District Corona Prevention Committee's member secretary Dr Md Sajjad Hossain has died from coronavirus infection. He was 55.
Dr Sajjad Hossain was the first civil surgeon who died of COVID-19.
Dr Sajjad Hossain died while undergoing treatment at the ICU of Asgar Ali Hospital in Dhaka at about 5:40pm on Tuesday.
Feni BMA President Prof. Shahedul Islam Kawsar confirmed it.
He said Dr Sajjad breathed his last at 5:40pm at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital.
He was in ventilation support in the hospital for the last few days.
Dr Sajjad tested positive for COVID-19 on June 12 at Dr. Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Lab in Noakhali district. After feeling breathing complications, he himself admitted to the isolation unit sitated at the third floor of Feni General Hospital early afternoon on JUne 14.
Since then, he was undergoing treatment at the Feni General Hospital. on June 14 after his condition deteriorated.
Dr. Shahedul Islam Kawsar further said that Dr Sajjad Hossain was shifted to Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital in the afternoon on June 18 on the advice of the medical board formed for his treatment as his oxygen saturation was not working well.
As the situation deteriorated further, Dr. Sajjad Hossain was shifted to ventilation support on 1 July. He died there after seven days of treatment.
Dr Sajjad Hossain was the 25th batch student of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
He left behind his wife Dr Nadia Dilruba and a daughter to mourn his death.
