Over 10,000 people marooned as 10 villages in Hatiya flooded


More than 10,000 people in Hatiya under Dwip upazila of Noakhali are marooned due to flood water.

Most of the houses, crops and shops were damaged as 10 villages in three unions have been flooded following rise of water in the rivers.

The situation will continue for next some days as full moon on Monday.

Sources said the areas were flooded as an embankment was collapsed during storm Amphan which is yet not repair.





Fishes were destroyed due to flood water.

Upazila executive officer Md Rezaul Karim said, "We tried to contact with Water Development Board to repair the embankment. But we failed to connect. Now, union parishad will repair it."
