Bangladesh on Saturday reported 29 more deaths from COVID-19 and 3,288 fresh cases in last 24 hours.
The death toll reached 1,997 while the positive cases 159,679, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Nasima Sultana confirmed the matter at the daily health bulletin this afternoon.
The death rate is 1.25 per cent and the infection rate is 22.33 per cent
A total of 14,727 samples were tested in 64 labs across the country.
Emphasising on mental health, the DGHS said, "COVID-19 has created extra pressure in our minds. It has also created hindrance in our daily sleep. So we should keep ourselves fresh by doing household works."
Dr Nasima requested family members to take special care of children and elderly person in the family. Because they are in risk for any pandemic and lack of security.
Some 2,673 more COVID-19 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total recovery number to 70,721.
The current recovery rate is 44.29 per cent.
During this period, a total of 744 people were put under isolation.
