HC asks TCB to sell products at upazila level

The High Court (HC) on Wednesday directed the Commerce Ministry to take necessary measures for selling rice at Tk 10 and other essentials at Upazila and Municipal areas people through Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).

The HC asked the Prime Minister's principal secretary, Commerce Ministry secretary and TCB's chairman to implement the order within seven days.
It also ordered to informed on June 11, what steps have been taken regarding this matter.
The virtual HC bench Justice JBM Hasan passed the order after hearing on a writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Barrister M Humaun Kabir Pallob on behalf of rights organisations Law and Life Foundation.
Laywyer Humaun Kabir Pallob himself argued for the petition in the court while Lawyer Tapos Kanti Bol stood for the Commerce Ministry.
