Two traffickers remanded
A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed two traffickers on a four-day remand each in connection with a case filed over trafficking of the 26 Bangladeshis killed in Libya on May 28.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain passed the order as CID Inspector Mizanur Rahman, also investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court with a 7-day remand prayer, said GRO Pranoy Kumar Sarkar.
The accused are Mahbubur Rahman, 49, and his brother Shahidur Rahman ,40, They are FIR listed accused.
In the remand prayer, the IO said the brothers were involved with the trafficking of 26 Bangladeshis to Libya. So, they need to be remanded to learn of the whereabouts of others involved with trafficking, the IO added.
On Friday, another RAB team arrested one Kamal Uddin alias Haji Kamal ,55, an alleged ring leader of a human trafficking gang, from Dhaka's Shahjadpur area.
As many as 26 Bangladeshi citizens were killed while 11 others injured in a gun attack by some human traffickers on May 28 in the desert town of Mizdah, some 180-km from Tripoli, the capital of Libya.
