Two SSC examinees commit suicide
Two secondary school certificate (SSC) examinees committed suicide after failing to score desired result in two districts- Joypurhat and Gopalganj, on Sunday.
JOYPURHAT: A SSC examinee committed suicide in Dastapur Village under Puranapoila Union in Sadar Upazila of the district on Sunday night, after failing in the examination.
Deceased Abu Sayeed, 17, son of Sarwar Hossain, was a SSC participant from Shyampur High School.
Deceased's family sources said Abu Sayeed took poisonous pill after hearing the news of his failure in the examination. Later, family members rushed him to Joypurhat Adhunik Zila Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Abu Sayeed dead.
Head Teacher of Shyampur High School Shamsur Rahman confirmed the incident.
GOPALGANJ: A female SSC examinee committed suicide in Muksudpur Upazila of the district on Sunday, after failing to score desired result in the examination.
Deceased Bristy Mandol, daughter of Basudeb Mandol of Baniarchar Village in Jalilpar Union of the upazila, was a SSC participant from Baniarchar Adarsha High School. As she got GPA- 3.94, she attempted to commit suicide by hanging herself after publishing the result. Her family members rescued her and took Bristy to Rajoir Upazila Health Complex of Madaripur. As her condition was deteriorating, she was rushed to Faridpur Medical College, where she died at around 11pm.
