Two found dead in two districts
An elderly man and an unidentified woman were found dead in separate incidents in two districts- Noakhali and Thakurgaon, in two days.
SONAIMURI, NOAKHALI: Police recovered the body of an elderly man from under a bridge in Sonaimuri Upazila of the district district on Tuesday afternoon.
Deceased Abdur Rahman, 78, was a resident of Nandia Para Village in the upazila. He was mentally-imbalanced, and a beggar in the area.
Local people smelled bad odour coming from under the bridge in front of Nandia Para College and then found the body there.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Noakhali General Hospital morgue, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonaimuri Police Station (PS) Abdus Samad.
He might has fallen from the bridge and then drowned in the water, the OC said quoting the locals.
THAKURGAON: Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman in Sadar Upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.
Thakurgaon Sadar PS OC Tanvirul Islam said local saw a leg of the body put under the earth in an orchard of Nargun Kaharpara Village and informed police.
Later, police recovered the half-decomposed body and sent it to Thakurgaon Adhunik Sadar Hospital morgue.
Police primarily assumed that miscreants might have killed the woman two to three days back and put the body under the soil in the orchard, the OC added.
