26 held for attack on Gopalganj police

Police have arrested 26 accused in a case filed for attacking police and snatching away three accused from them in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj district.

The law enforcers raided Khandapara and Bahugram areas on Monday morning and detained them.

Confirming the matter, Muksudpur Police Station OC Mirza Abul Kalam Azad said they were produced before a court.

On may 9, associates of the three accused attacked police in Khandapara area and snatched away them. Seven policemen were injured in the attack.

Later, police lodged a case naming 38 persons, including Khandapara union parishad chairman Sabbir Khan Prodhan, and unnamed more hundred people in this connection.
