Entire country to be divided into red, yellow, green zones

The government is planning to divide country's coronavirus hit areas into three zones--red, green and yellow-- based on the infection and death rates caused by the coronavirus.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque came up with the disclosure following a meeting at the Secretariat on Monday.
The minister, however, informed that the decision on dividing virus hit areas into zones is yet to be finalized. "You (journalists) will know about the plan once implemented," he said.
“Most of the districts and upazilas are still in good condition with less infection and we want to keep up the situation. Recently we along with an expert team met the Prime Minister and talked about the matter,” said Maleque.
He further said, “The Prime Minister gave us few suggestions to contain the virus. We've discussed elaborately over the advises in the meeting and now we'll prepare a plan.”
In reply to a question about the formation of zones, the minister said, “Our experts will work about zoning and its implementation.”
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “The rate of infections of the virus is on rise. Today, we've discussed about dividing areas into zones like red, green and yellow as per the infection rate. the Prime Minister suggested us to take steps to turn a red zone to a green one.”
The Health Minister will present few proposals in this regard and these will be implemented soon, added the minister.
Mayors of Dhaka North, Gazipur and Naryanganj, state minister for Home Affairs and Public Administration, among others, were present at the meeting.
