Libya Killings: Case filed in Bhairab; One held

A case has been filed with Bhairab Police Station in Kishoreganj over the  killing incident of 26 Bangladeshis in Libya.

Mobarak Hossen, elder brother of deceased Saddam Hossen, filed the case against seven people on Sunday noon.

Human trafficker Tanjirul has been made the main accused in the case.

However, police detained Md Baharul Alam, brother of Tanjirul, after filing the case.

CID's Organised Crime Unit has already came to Bhairab and started investigation.

The police station OC Md Shahin Miah said a case has been filed under the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act. Different intelligence agencies including CID and DB are investigating the case.

On May 28, thirty migrants including 26 Bangladeshis were shot dead by family members of a local human trafficker in Libyan town of Mizda in a revenge attack. The rest four were African nationals.

At the same time, 11 more Bangladeshis were seriously injured, according to a statement from Libya's internationally recognised Government of National Accord (GNA).
