Industrialist Abdul Monem laid to rest beside mother's grave

Noted industrialist Abdul Monem, Chairman and Managing Director of Abdul Monem Limited (AML), was buried beside his mother's grave in Brahmanbaria district.
He was buried at about 7:30pm after his namaj-e-janaza at Jamiat-us-Sunnah Madrasa ground at village Bijeshwar under Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila following the Magreb prayer on Sunday.
The namaj-e-janaza was attended by Sadar upazila Parishad chairman Lion Firozur Rahman, Ramlail Union Parishad chairman Shahadat Khan, former UP chairman Mohammad Selim, his two sons--ASM Mainuddin Monem and ASM Mohiuddin Monem, his son-in-laws and local elderly people. The janaza was held maintaining social distance.
GM Qamrul Hasan, Chief Execuive Officer of Igloo Ice Cream, Food and Dairy Group, a sister concern of AML, said Abdul Monem died at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka at about 10:00am on Sunday.
Monem was admitted to the CMH on May 17 after he suffered a brain stroke.
He left behind two sons and three daughters to mourn his death.
Abdul Monem was born on January 5, 1937 at Bijeshwar village in Brahmanbaria district.
His two sons--ASM Mainuddin Monem and ASM Mohiuddin Monem--are the Deputy Managing Directors of the AML.
