Khulna corona patient given plasma therapy dies

The first coronavirus patient in Khulna who was given plasma therapy died on Sunday morning.

Deceased Tanvir Alam,31, was undergoing treatment at a coronavirus-dedicated hospital in Khulna was given plasma therapy on May 28.

Son of Alauddin of Bagmara village in Rupsa upazila, Tanvir worked in a mobile softwire company in Dhaka.

Khulna Medical College vice principal Dr Mehedi Newaz confirmed media about the death.

He said, The condition of Tanvir had been deteriorating. He was given all possible treatment including the plasma therapy. But, no treatment worked on him. Tanvir was put on a 72-hour observation for the therapy results. But, he died at 8am before the period which was set for Sunday afternoon."

He tested positive for the virus on May 24 and was admitted to a hospital.

So far, four people died from the virus infection in Khulna.
