Ex-national footballer Helal passes away

Golam Rabbani Helal, the former national footballer, died at a hospital in the capital on Saturday. He was 63.
He breathed his last at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Square Hospitals at around 12 noon.
The former footballer was admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning after he suffered brain hemorrhage.
Helal represented the national team from 1979 to 1985 and also played for Dhaka Abahani Club Limited regularly from 1975 to 1988 except a short spell at BJMC.
He became the director of Abahani after retiring from football and serve some other roles for the club.
The former Abahani booter was also the executive committee member of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) for the last five years, starting from 2008.
