Woman's body abandoned by relatives buried by police in Narsingdi
A woman died on Thursday evening after she got admitted to the Narsingdi Sadar Hospital with severe headache and shortness of breath in the early afternoon.
Fearing that Ferdousi Begum died of coronavirus infection, members of the families of both her husband and father refused to accept her dead body from the hospital.
Subsequently, Narsingdi Model Police Station accepted the body of 27-year-old woman and arranged her burial.
Ferdousi Begum's husband Al Amin hails from village Khalonda under Bancharampur upazila in Brahmanbaria district, while her father hails from village Cholimganj under the same upazila in the same district. Her husband has been living in Maldives over the last ten years. She lived at a rented house of one Hasan at Shalidha under Narsingdi municipality with her fifth-grader son.
Receiving information, Narsingdi police super Proloy Kumar Joarder ordered Narsingdi Model Police Station officer-in-charge to accept the dead body and arrange her burial.
On Friday, police made all the arrangements--right from digging the grave to burial of the woman along with namaj-e-janaza--at Narsingdi Municipal Graveyard, said Narsingdi Model Police Station OC Syeduzzaman.
