Actions needed to recover damage from Amphan

Dear Sir

Currently, the biggest challenge for Bangladesh is to rehabilitate the families affected by the cyclone Amphan.
Because of early preventive preparation, its destructive effects have been largely relieved, but much damage has been done to the coastal areas of the country and the Rajshahi division. About 25 per cent of mangoes orchard of Rajshahi region has been destroyed. Khulna, Bagerhat, Satkhira's coastal houses, crop lands, shrimp farms have all been destroyed. Amid the corona pandemic and Ramadan, this calamity has inflicted a huge negative impact on common people.

Government assistance is urgently needed in this situation to recover the damages. Even if relief or assistance arrives a little late in this situation, the plight of common people will be unbearable. Government should introduce package and initiatives to assist people those have been facing hardship. If people cannot recover the damage soon, it will harm our national economy in long run.

Therefore, we hope that the authorities concerned will release clear instructions and strict monitoring in this regard.
