Ten more RAB personnel test coronavirus positive in Nilphamari

Ten more Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 members of Nilphamari camp have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection. With them, a total of 19 RAB-13 personnel have been infected with the deadly virus.
Nilphamari District Civil Surgeon Dr Ranjit Kumar Barman confirmed it on Thursday.
He said a total of 108 persons have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the district. Of them, 47 have been infected at the district town.
According to the district health department, two members of RAB-13 Nilphamari camp were diagnosed with corona positive on May 20 last. When another RAB member tested positive on May 22 and six members on May 25, the samples of 63 RAB personnel including the officials were sent to Dhaka for test.
Of the 63 RABM members, 10 tested positive on Thursday afternoon. Those who tested positive were four officials of the camp including a deputy assistant director, five members and a cloth washer.
The camp's company commander assistant police super Abul Kalam Azad said newly diagnosed 10 persons were shifted to the RAB's isolation centre in Rangpur, while the previously tested nine persons have been undergoing treatment at Nilphamari General Hospital.
