2 killed in Sirajganj village clash

Two people have been killed during a clash between two rival groups of villagers in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj district.

The incident took place at Gudibari village on Tuesday evening that also left 10 persons injured.

The deceased were identified as Ripon, 28, son of Abdul Mannan, and Ashraful Islam, 16, son of Ansar Molla. 

Quoting locals, Shahjadpur police station officer in-charge OC Ataur Rahman said two groups, led by Baharam and Najim, were at loggerheads over establishing supremacy in the village.

Following the dispute, the rival groups engaged in a clash, leaving 12 people critically injured.

The injured were taken to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib 250-Bed General Hospital where the duo died. 

The hospital physician Dr Faisal Ahmed confirmed the death.
