Karate coach Jewel dies with virus symptoms

M Humayun Kabir Jewel, Bangladesh Karate Federation's executive committee member and former coach of national karate team, died with coronavirus symptoms at a city hospital on Tuesday morning.
The 52-year-old former national karate champion and incumbent coach of Bangladesh Bangladesh Ansar team was admitted to the city's Green Life Hospital on Monday. He died there at about 8:00am on Tuesday.
Jewel left behind his mother, wife, a son, a daughter and a host of students and admirers to mourn his death.
Karate Federation general secretary Kyaw Shwe Hla said earlier that Jewel tested negative for coronavirus. Later, he was shifted to the ICU following deterioration of his condition.
A confusion was created that if Jewel died of coronavirus. He had been suffering from breathing complications while the results of his sample test came negative.
