Woman, daughters receive injuries in acid attack on Eid day

A woman and her two young daughters received severe injuries when miscreants threw acid on them in Raipur upazila of Laxmipur early morning on the Eid day.

Injured Anwara Begum and her daughters sumaiya Akhtar,27, and Sumi Akhtar,18, of Ludhua village were admitted to Noakhali General Hospital.

The victims said some miscreants broke the window-pens of their room and threw acid early in the morning when they were asleep.

The fluid caused burns over their faces, necks and other body parts.

Neighbours rushed in hearing their screams and took the victims to the local hospital.

The victims were shifted to the Noakhali General Hospital better treatment.

Hospital's doctor Mahfuzur Rahman said  the condition of the youngest daughter was worst as she received maximum burn injuries than others.

Raipur police OC Tota Mia said a police hunt is on to arrest the culprits.
