Patient fled Pabna Hospital isolation found at Hili
A patient with coronavirus symptoms fled to Hakimpur upazila in Dinajpur district from Pabna Hospital's isolation was rescued by police on Wednesday.
Confirming the matter, Hakimpur Police Station OC Abdur Razzak Akand said he talked with the Upazila Corona Committee about the matter. They would take all necessary steps.
The patient Mostaq Al Mamun, 25, son of Anisur Rahman of village Madhabpara under Hakimpur upazila, was rescued from his home after police went there receiving information.
Contacted, Hakimpur UNO Abdur Rafiul Alam told over mobile phone that there were no coronavirus symptoms in the body of the patient who fled away. "We have already asked Mostaq Al Mamun and his other family members to stay in self-quarantine," he said.
It may be mentioned that Mostaq Al Mamun came at his father-in-law's house at village Dighalkandi in Kashinathpur area under Aminpur Police Station in Bera upazila of Pabna district with the symptoms of fever, sneeze, cough and headache on April 5 last. The patient admitted to Pabna General Hospital with the symptoms of sneeze, cough and shortness of breath on Monday. Suspecting him as a coronavirus infecetd case, doctors sent him to the hospital's isolation ward. But the patient had been showing objection to stay there from the beginning.
Following the Wednesday evening, the health workers did not see him at the hospital anymore. After looking for him, they understood that the patient fled away. Later, the hospital authorities lodged a general diary with the local police station.
