PG Hospital's professor infected with coronavirus

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) professor Shahidullah Sikder has been infected with novel coronavirus.

BSMMU vice-chancellor Professor Kanak Kanti Barua confirmed it.

He said Prof Shahidullah Sikder, chairman of skin department and former pro-vice-chancellor, tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Thursday.

Prof Shahidullah's department has been disinfected and others who have come to his contact have been quarantined.

Prof Shahidullah was on the campus on Thursday before he tested positive and he distributed masks among his colleagues said a number of doctors at the university hospital.
