Narsingdi will be put on lockdown Thursday

Narsingdi district has been put on lockdown by the deputy commissioner and corona resistance district committee president Syeda Farhana Kawnain.

The deputy commissioner has said that the decision to put Narsingdi district on lockdown has been taken 'to contain the risks of coronavirus infection and protection of the district.'

The decision will come in effect on Thursday and will continue till further notice is issued.

According to the directives, entry into and exit from Narsingdi district will be restricted. Restrictions have also been imposed on entering Narsingdi district through the roads and frontiers of other districts, except Dhaka-Sylhet highway.

Besides, all kinds of business establishments, public gatherings, plying of transports, movement of people will remain suspended round-the-clock.

However, emergency services, supply of food, medicines and treatment will remain out of the purview of the lockdown.

Legal step will be taken if anyone found violating the order.
