Grocery owner dies of coronavirus in city

A 50-year-old grocery owner has died of coronavirus at Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital in the capital.

The hospital control room officer confirmed the news on Tuesday.  

The man, a resident in Boro Bhat Masjid area in city's old part of Lalbagh,  has been buried to Khilgaon graveyard.

His daughter and son-in-law are also undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

The man's nephew recently returned from the USA, local people informed.

It is assumed that the family members were infected with the virus from the foreign returnee.

The road from Azimpur staff quarter to Boro Bhat Masjid was cordoned off.
