7 new patients admitted to RMCH with corona like symptoms
RAJSHAHI: Seven new patients have been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) with coronavirus symptoms in the last 24 hours until Tuesday.
Of them, four are being treated in the Corona Ward of the Infectious Disease Hospital and the rest three at the hospital's monitoring ward.
It was stated by Dr Azizul Haque Azad, Associate Professor of Medicine Department and convenor of the Coronavirus Physician Coordination Committee, at a regular briefing at RMCH on Tuesday.
He said samples of four patients would be sent for corona test as they have developed the coronavirus like symptoms.
Dr Azad also said one of the four patients kept at Corona Ward is a teenage girl who hails from Charghat upazila in the district. She has been suffering from fever and cough over the last three days.
The girl is much better now. She took treatment at the Isolation Ward of Charghat Health Complex. But, the locals wouldn't let her enter the village without being confirmed about her test result. Because of it, she was sent to the RMCH.
Dr Azad also said three more were hospitalized with fever, cough and respiratory problems. They are being treated in the hospital's monitoring ward. Those who wouldn't improve, they will be sent to the Corona Ward for corona tests.
Meanwhile, 98 samples have been tested in the last six days till Monday at the Corona Examination Lab set up at the RMCH. One of these was found positive. Presence of the virus was not found in the remaining 97 patients.
