A young man with coronavirus symptoms died in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj district on Monday afternoon.

Deceased Jihadul Islam Jihad, 22, was a resident of Sarappur village under Madhainagar union in the upazila. 

However, the village was also put under lockdown following the death. 

Quoting family members, Tarash upazila health and family planning officer Md Jamal Uddin Mia said Jihad was a RMG worker in Dhaka. 

He came to his village home on April 1. Since then, he had been suffering from fever, cold, cough and neck pain. He was also having loose motion. 

He fell sick severely this morning. The family members took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospita (SZMC) in Bogura.

But, he died on way to the SZMC. 

Sirajganj civil surgeon Dr Zahidul Islam said though the person had symptoms of coronavirus but the family members did not bring him to Tarash Upazila Health Complex. 

Sample from the deceased was collected and will be sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for test, the civil surgeon added.

Meanwhile, Tarash UNO Iffat Jahan said the deceased's house was put under lockdown as a cautionary act.
