Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing

A Bangladeshi was shot dead by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Chochpara border in Baliadanga upazila of Thakurgaon district early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Joynal Abedin,35, son of M Majhil of Bhangbari village in Ranishankail upazila.

BGB sources said Joynal lived in India with his 2nd wife for last 10 years while his first wife lives in Bangladesh.

BGB said BSF members of Chaklagarh camp  opened fire on Joynal when he tried to  enter Bangladesh at early hours, leaving him dead on the spot.

Thakurgaon 50 BGB commander Lt Col Shahdul Islam said they were trying to hold a falg meeting with the BSF over the matter.
