Young man dies at isolation centre of Shariatpur hopsital
A young man, who had been kept at isolation centre of Shariatpur Sadar Hospital following respiratory problem, died on Tuesday night.
Deceased Rafiqul Islam, 35 , a resident in Naria upazila, had been admitted to the hospital in the evening where he breathed his last at 9:30pm.
Shariatpur Civil Surgeon Dr Abdullah Al Murad said Rafiqul took treatment at the hospital from March 19 to March 23 as he was diagnosed with TB. After recovering, the doctor advised him to take home.
Relatives of the the victim said he suffered from breathing problem on Tuesday afternoon. As the condition deteriorated, they took him to Naria Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors referred him to the Sadar Hospital.
The physicians of the hospital kept Rafiqul in isolation centre on suspicion of coronavirus.
Monir Ahmed Khan, caretaker of the Sadar Hospital, said the patient came to the hospital in critical condition.
Shariatpur Deputy Commissioner Kazi Abu Taher also said the deceased was a patient of TB disease.
