Jashore child dies at isolation ward

A 12-year-old boy, who had been suffering from cold, cough, fever, and respiratory problems, died at the isolation ward of Jashore General Hospital on Monday morning.
The child was the resident of Enayetpur village in Sadar upazila of the district.
The boy was brought to the hospital on Sunday afternoon. He was kept under quarantine in the isolation ward of the hospital following some symptoms of coronavirus, said Harun Ar Rashid, physician and assistant director of Jashore General Hospital
He was found dead at the ward this morning while no relatives of the patient were found near him.
As the hospital contacted IEDCR, they refused to test him for coronavirus, saying that the minor’s symptoms did not match with any ones of coronavirus, said Harun Ar Rashid.
The physicians of the hospital said he suffered from cold around a month ago. But, he started suffering from fever and respiratory problems for last few days.
Members of local administration and civil surgeon office visited the hospital after the death.
