Bank official held for threatening to rape AC (Land) Sayeema

An official of a private commercial bank who had allegedly threatened to rape former AC (Land) Sayeema Hasan of Monirampur upazila in Jashore for humiliating three elderly men was arrested in Dhaka on Sunday.
Zafar Ahmed, regional head of Agent Banking Division of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited, was arrested by the detectives from a house at Jatrabari.
Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch of Police (North) deputy commissioner Shahjahan Saju said a case was filed with Jashore's Monirampur Police Station under the Digital Act. Zafar Ahmed shown arrested in the case and he was handed over to police.
Md Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jashore's Monirampur Police Station, said AC (Land) Sayeema Hasan, being the complainant, filed a case under the Digital Act on Sunday morning. Zafar Ahmed was made as the lone accused in the case. She submitted all the information about the threat from the Facebook along with the case. The DB in Dhaka phoned that Zafar Ahmed was arrested. A team of Monirampur police have already left for Dhaka to bring Zafar Ahmed here.
On Friday, AC (Land) Sayeema Hasan punished three elderly people asking them to get up and down holding their ears. She took the photos of the elderly men on her mobile phone and then uploaded to the upazila's government website. On the following day, the Ministry of Public Administration withdrew Sayeema Hasan.
Public Administration Ministry's Secretary said departmental action would be launched against Sayeema Hasan after opening of the office for her 'undesirable misconduct.'
The AC (Land)'s misconduct has seriously tarnished the image of the government as she came under widespread criticism after the photos humiliating the three elderly men in Monirampur upazila went viral on social media.
