Youth dies without treatment due to coronavirus fear
Failing to get treatment at three hospitals as a suspected coronavirus case, a young man from Naogaon died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Saturday night.
Family said, the youth, an employee of a cloth store in Dhaka, recently came home with high fever and cough.
But, local UP member and some villagers did not allow him to enter in the village suspecting him a coronavirus patient.
He was, then, taken to Adamdighi Upazila Health Complex. But, doctors denied him giving treatment.
from there, the man was also taken to the local community clinic and Naogaon sadar Hospital, but, none provided him with treatment.
At last, the patient was whisked off to the RMCH.
The deceased's father said, docrors prescribed some medicines, which did not work on his son. Since then, no physicians came to see him. Later, he died around 8pm.
UP member Mofazzal Hossain Bachchu said the youth's family had been asked to come with the medical reports. The decision was taken considering the wellbeing of all the villagers.
Upazila health and family planning officer Dr KHM iftekharul Alam told media that the youth has been taken with high fever. and he was referred to adar Hospital afte giving first aid.
Meanwhile, Raninagar UNO said the man died of Meningitis and it was mentioned in the death certificate.
