Gaibandha quarantined people's samples collected

Some 105 people have been identified who came into contact with two coronavirus infected foreign returnees at a wedding ceremony in Sadullahpur of Gaibandha district.

Of them, the IEDCR identified 89 while the district health office 16.

But, the IEDCR did not confirm samples of how many people have been collected.

Gaibandha Civil Surgeon ABM Abu Hanif told media that samples of blood and cough of a few people have been collected. But he could not confirm the number.

A team of IEDCR collected the samples on Wednesday night and returned to Dhaka.

The Civil surgeon informed that two people have been diagnosed with coronavirus till 10am on Thursday.

Earlier on March 22, the local administration imposed a lockdown in Sadullapur upazila in an effort to stop the spread of coronavirus as two foreign returnees, who attended a wedding programme, tested positive.
