Export-import suspended thru' Akhaura landport for coronavirus
Export-import activities and movement of people through Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria have been suspended for indefinite period due to coronavirus outbreak.
Traders of Tripura state in India refused to receive products after the Indian government put the entire India on 21 days of lockdown.
Around 50 trucks got struck at the port with exported product. Over 100 cargo trucks returned from the port since the suspension from Tuesday, said Akhaura land port export-import association general secretary Safiqul Islam.
Akhaura Immigration in-charge Abdul Hamid said passenger movement through the port is closed, except people with diplomatic, official, United Nations, other international organizations visas under special permission.
