Government has asked Bangladeshis, who are on abroad now, to stay at their homes to save them from deadly coronavirus infection.
Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) made the call on Tuesday, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
“Two-thirds of the world is affected by the coronavirus. For this reason, it is better to stay at home in which country you are staying now,” said the press release.
COVID-19 could be spread through travelling, transit and landing at airport terminals, said the press release, adding, one could be affected by the virus from an affected passenger, passenger affected by the plane crew or the crew only.
The government also discouraged to cancel all unnecessary trips abroad.
“Bangladeshi citizen who is receiving treatment at ICU at a hospital in Singapore is not in an improved situation. Foreign Ministry and Bangladesh embassy are in regular contact with 23 Bangladeshis who backed from China’s Wuhan province, now quarantined in Delhi,” the press release said.
