HC asks to give MPO facilities to 15 teachers

The High Court on Tuesday directed the government to immediately give monthly payment order (MPO) facilities to 15 teachers of different educational institutions across the country.

The bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Mohammad Ali came up with the directive following four separate writ petitions filed by 15 teachers of the institutions seeking necessary orders.

Petitioners’ lawyer Advocate Mohammad Siddique Ullah Miah said his clients have been discharging duties as teachers at different educational institutions for long periods of time.

But they are not being paid under MPO facilities although most of their colleagues are given the facilities, he added.
