7 of a family burnt in Sirajganj

Seven members of a family, including two children, sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion at Dukhiabari village in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj on Sunday evening.

Manzil Haque, deputy assistant director of Sirajganj Fire service and Civil Defence, said a fire originated from a gas cylinder explosion in the house of one Sanwar Munshi around 7:45pm.

Getting information, fire fighters rushed to the scene and rescued the burn injured.

The victims were sent to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital in the district.

They are: Sanwar Munshi, 55, his wife Nilufar Khatun, 50, his nephew Mehedi hasan, 13, his sons Tayeb Ali, 27, Saidul Islam, 35, Saidul's wife Najira Khatun, 30, his daughter Sumaiya, 2.

Among the injured, condition of Sumaiya is critical, said the hospital emergency department doctor Rokonuddin.
