GP asked to pay another Tk 1,000cr by 3 months

The Appellate Division on Monday asked Grameenphone to pay due amount of Tk 1,000 crore to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) within the next three months.

The six-member bench, led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, passed the order.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Barrister Khandaker Reza-e-Rakib stood for the BTRC state while lawyer AM Amin Uddin and Barrister Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury for the GP.

On Sunday, Grameenphone paid Tk 10 billion to BTRC following a Supreme Court order that asked GP to pay Tk 2,000 crore out of the Tk 12,579.95 crore dues claimed by BRTC.
